Student Transportation, Inc. Employees Rally Against Bullying

Student Transportation, Inc. (STI), an industry leader in school bus transportation, safety and fleet services, is kicking off its 8th annual Anti-Bullying Awareness Month today with its “I Support a Bully-Free” campaign, by raising awareness in the communities that it serves.

“Today kicks off our eighth Anti-Bullying Awareness Month. The company-wide “Bully-Free Buses” campaign starts with Blue Shirt Day. Wear blue today to show your support. #BlueUp” (Photo taken from Student Transportation Inc. Facebook Page)

“We truly care about the 1.25 million passengers we transport to and from school daily. Passengers should feel safe and secure on the school bus,” stated Shelly Hall, the company’s VP of safety. “We strive to have our vehicles not only be a safe zone but allow for a setting that is calm and enjoyable for all onboard. Anti-Bullying Awareness Month is a great opportunity to highlight what we do year-round to prevent bullying and work with community leaders to raise awareness.”

STI’s family of companies throughout North America will be partnering with the communities which it serves during the month. It starts with STI’s annual tradition of having drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, and others wear blue shirts today as a symbol of unity taking a stance against bullying.

“At STI we feel that Blue Shirt Day is an important day, because it allows us to show our students, parents, school officials, and community members, that we are adamant about not allowing any form of bullying to take place on or off the school bus,” added Hall.

In addition to Blue Shirt Day, awareness-raising activities will be hosted at the company’s more than 170 locations. School officials, law enforcement personnel, safety-based community organizations, and others will also take part in conducting meetings and making presentations on the subject. While STI puts an emphasis on bullying prevention during October, STI continues to be an industry leader in anti-bullying awareness and prevention education throughout the entire year. www.RideSTBus.com
