Waterloo Community Schools Partners with Durham School Services for Student Transportation

WARRENVILLE, Ill. — Durham School Services was recently awarded a three-year student transportation contract by Waterloo Community Schools in Waterloo, Iowa.

The company will provide transportation services beginning in July for the 2012–2013 school year.

Waterloo Superintendent Dr. Gary Norris was impressed by Durham’s safety record and customer service philosophy. “We are pleased to partner with Durham School Services to provide safe and reliable transportation for the students in our district,” he said.  “Durham has an outstanding track record and we believe their team will go above and beyond to meet our district’s needs.”

Durham will operate 78 home-to-school routes with 90 buses, transporting approximately 5,000 students each day.

“Durham School Services is looking forward to serving Waterloo Community Schools,” said David Duke, CEO of Durham School Services.  “We are committed to delivering the highest level of safety and customer service to the district, students and families. We are excited to become part of this community.”

Durham plans to rehire as many drivers, monitors, mechanics and staff from the current provider as possible.

At Durham School Services, safety is the main priority. The buses serving the Waterloo district will be equipped with GPS tracking systems to ensure safety and on-time arrival of all students.  Video cameras and student tracking technologies will also be installed across the fleet to ensure that students are not left unattended on the bus.
