NSTA’s annual Capitol Hill Spring Bus-In will be held in Washington, D.C., next month to once again present opportunities to private school bus operators and industry representatives to meet with congressional members on issues impacting the business of student transportation and travel.
The event begins with a day of NSTA committee meetings and the association’s spring board meeting on April 23. The Government Relations Committee, Safety & Security Committee and Association & Industry Development Committee will meet in preparation of association business for the NSTA Annual Convention that will take place this summer as well as for meetings with House and Senate members the following day. NSTA is scheduling individual meetings between contractors and their state representatives for Apri 24.
The next day, a clean school bus event will be held on Capitol Hill, and meeting participants will receive briefings from federal agency representatives on a host of items, including NHTSA and FMCSA regulatory issues, clean diesel and alternative fuels initiatives as well as transit encroachment on private school-bus contracts.
