Sacramento City Unified School District announced that it received three new all-electric small school buses.
The acquisition of the Type-A buses, made public on Thursday, brings the Northern California district’s electric fleet to 11 vehicles.
The electric drives are provided by Motiv Power Systems, which is based in nearby Foster City.
The Type-A buses are zero-emission vehicles, which release no harmful carbon emissions or particulate matter, Motiv officials said.
The new buses are based on the Ford E-450 chassis, with the Type-A school bus bodies built by Trans Tech.
