Collins, Corbeil and Mid Bus Models Recalled to Fix Electrical Panel Cover

Collins Bus Corporation announced it is recalling 196 of its Collins, Corbeil and Mid Bus models because an electrical panel covered located above the drive position may not be adequately secured.

The 2012 models affected are SL, SH, DH and DE school buses and MFSABs manufactured from March 12 through July 2 of this year. Collins Bus said vehicle vibration may cause the designed disks to lose grip and release the cover without warning, which could injure or distract the bus driver and result in a crash.

Collins Bus is notifying owners that dealers will repair the electrical panel cover free of charge. The NHTSA recall campaign is set to begin in September.
