Deadline Looms for Submitted Papers to Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting

Paper submissions are due this Thursday for the TRB 93rd annual meeting scheduled for Jan. 12-16 in Washington, D.C, which features a section on school transportation.

The Subcommittee on School Transportation considers the broad range of issues that impact the safety, security, health, and quality of all modes of school transportation.
It is seeking papers on the following topics:

  • Safe Routes to School Program Best Practices
  • Safety Enhancements in School Buses
  • Using Technology to Manage School Transportation
  • School Location/Siting and Its Impact on Student Health and Fitness
  • Teen Drivers and School Transportation
  • Impacts of School Bus Service Reductions
  • Congestion Near Schools and the Impacts on Air Quality
  • International School Transportation Programs and Practices
  • Other School Safety Research Projects

Papers must be submitted electronically by Aug. 1, and the paper number and abstract must also be sent to the Paper Review Committee chair.

The call for submissions period opened in June.
