Durham School Services Employees Honored at NSTA Annual Convention

Two employees of school bus contractor Durham School Services received Golden Merit Awards in recognition of “valuable contributions to the school bus industry” during the National School Transportation Association (NSTA) Annual Convention held in Milwaukee.

Rob Bauman is the regional manager of Durham’s southeast area operations and donated school bus transportation for local students to attend a patriotic military program and for workers on the set of the ABC television series “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”

“In his 13 years with us, Robb has consistently gone above and beyond what’s expected of him,” said Tom McBride, Durham’s vice president of East area operations. “His knowledge of the industry and dedication to the community are apparent to anyone who meets him.”

Meanwhile, Keith Galloway has been Durham’s director of business development for the past two years and has logged nearly 30 years in the school bus industry. He is responsible for securing many new company contracts along the East Coast.

“Having literally grown up in the school bus business, Keith has dedicated his life to seeing that children get to school safely, on time and ready to learn,” said Rick Klaus, Durham’s vice president of sales.

NSTA’s Golden Merit Award was established in 1969 to recognize school bus employees for their achievements in safety, driver training, business practice, vehicle maintenance and superior service to their school district, community and pupil transportation industry.
