Former A-Z Bus Sales CEO Joins ADOMANI

ADOMANI announced yesterday that Jim Reynolds, the recently retired CEO of A-Z Bus Sales, will take over as president and CEO of the eletric-power converter for commercial vehicles.

Reynolds joined ADOMANI’s board of directors shortly after his retirement from A-Z last July, where he had worked since 2001.

ADOMANI converts gas or diesel-powered vehicles to plug-in hybrid or electric. The California Highway Patrol recently approved an ADOMANI-converted vehicle for use in Gilroy, Calif.,:  an all-electric Blue Bird All American RE school bus.

During his tenure at A-Z Bus Sales, Reynolds launched two new divisions: A-Z Emissions Solutions, which provides diesel truck and fleet owners assistance with CARB compliance, and A-Z Fire Apparatus, which is an authorized E-One Fire Apparatus Dealer in California.

“Jim has guided and led A-Z Bus Sales in ways that we needed, and we would not have evolved into who we are today without his leadership,” said George Tillery, founder and Chairman of the Board back in July.

Reynolds stated that he was initially hesitant about joining ADOMANI when the opportunity arose, but that he soon changed his mind upon learning more about the company and its innovations.

“When they (ADOMANI) approached me about working with them, while interested and honored, I was a bit reluctant, but once I saw their technology and realized the impact a company like ADOMANI could make on the transportation industry and the environment I was on-board,” he explained.

ADOMANI founder and CTO Edward Monfort said that he was so taken with Reynolds’ leadership skills that he volunteered to step down as CEO if Reynolds were to accept the position.

“Jim has incredible industry expertise and relationships. His sales and marketing experiences will prove pivotal as we move forward as a company,” he added. “After I met him and spent some time with him, I told the Board we needed him.”
