A-Z Bus Sales announced the retirement of CEO Jim Reynolds Wednesday after 13 years of service. Reynolds said he plans to continue with the company as a member of the Board of Directors.

Reynolds first joined the company in 2001 as bus sales manager for new school bus sales. He moved up within A-Z, later becoming vice president and then president. In 2010, he took on the additional role of CEO while remaining president until 2013, when he recruited Landherr to succeed him as president while continuing on as CEO.

During his tenure at A-Z Bus Sales, Reynolds launched two new divisions: A-Z Emissions Solutions, which provides diesel truck and fleet owners assistance with CARB compliance, and A-Z Fire Apparatus, which is an authorized E-One Fire Apparatus Dealer in California.

“Jim has guided and led A-Z Bus Sales in ways that we needed, and we would not have evolved into who we are today without his leadership,” said George Tillery, founder and Chairman of the Board. “He has led us to the marketplace leader for school bus sales in California. This culminated in the recognition from Blue Bird by naming A-Z Bus Sales employee-owners as the ‘Dealer of the Year for 2013,'” he added.

On his retirement, Reynolds said: “It has been my privilege to serve our customers and employees of A-Z Bus Sales. We have a great team in place to continue our industry leadership and growth.”

In addition to his work with A-Z Bus Sales, Landherr is a board member for the Let it Be Foundation, a Southern California non-profit that supports families with children with life-threatening illnesses.

“I am honored and humbled to lead such an outstanding organization that strives for customer service excellence to both their customers and fellow employee owners,” said Landherr.

Citing Landherr’s leadership credentials, track record and accomplishments Tillery called him “the perfect individual to lead A-Z Bus Sales and its future growth.”

A-Z Bus Sales is a Blue Bird and Collins dealer, which serves California, Nevada, Arizona, and Hawaii and is an employee-owned company specializing in green alternative fuel products.
