Navistar Recalling Handful of IC Buses to Fix Steering

Navistar announced that 11 of its IC Bus models are being recalled because of insufficient torque of the steering arm bolts.

The NHTSA recall affects model year 2012 vehicles manufactured from Feb. 10 through Feb. 18, 2011 and are equipped with an Ameritor MFS08 Series non-drive, front steer axle. The steering bolts may separate because the attachment bolts may not have been properly torqued during the assembly process. This can result in loss of steering control.

Navistar said authorized dealers will repair the affected vehicles free of charge. No date was given as to when the recall campaign will begin.
