National Transportation Safety Board Chairman Deborah Hersman will join Rep. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland during a demonstration this week on back to school safety for bus riders and pedestrians as well as proper installment of child safety seats.
Montgomery County Public Schools led by Director of Transportation Todd Watkins, will provide an overview of school bus safety at Fitzgerald Auto Mall in Rockville Md. on Thursday morning. Also participating in the ttransportation safety demo and car-seat check is the Montgomery County Police Department, Safe Kids Montgomery County and Safe Kids Worldwide.
The event is free and open to the public. The 2013-2014 Montgomery County school year begins on Aug. 26.
