School Bus Driver Featured on ‘Today Show’

Many people across the country start off their mornings with NBC’s The Today Show. Friday, the show featured a member of the student transportation industry. Catherine Brutzman, a school bus driver with Student Transportation of America (STA) in Higganum, Connecticut, appeared as part of the show’s “Pay it Forward” series.

catherineCatherine Brutzman“Catherine really represents everything we stand for at Student Transportation of America,” said STI’s Chairman and CEO Denis Gallagher. “Her reliability, knowledge and devotion to the safety and well-being of her student passengers goes above and beyond the call of duty, and her efforts safely caring for generations of schoolchildren is remarkable.”

Brutzman has worked in the student transportation industry for over 40 years and has a spotless driving record, as well as perfect attendance, according to STA. She is also a part of Student Transportation Inc.’s Safety Wall of Fame.

“Catherine is a shining example of what family and community are all about – ‘paying it forward’ – by helping others when they need it most, supporting people unconditionally and encouraging others to reach their full potential. I speak for everyone at STA when I say that we are so proud that she is a member of the STA Family,” added Gallagher.
