HSM Transportation Solutions treated 75 North Carolina school bus drivers to breakfast in celebration of Love the Bus month.

She also rode a school bus taking students to Herbert Atkins Road Elementary School in Fuquay-Varina. Once the bus arrived, she at breakfast with the 75 district drivers.

The bus drivers also received HSM T-shirts featuring the “Stop for a Life” logo, which highlights the need for motorists to obey the school bus stop arm law.

“At HSM, we appreciate the opportunity to thank these men and women, who provide access to education as they safely drive our children to and from school every day,” said David Murphy, market manager for HSM Transportation Solutions. “It is our hope that everyone—parents, students, teachers and administrators—will show their appreciation for this important service, not just this month, but throughout the year.”

Love the Bus is in its eighth year. It is a program of the American School Bus Council that recognizes the jobs of hundreds of thousands of bus drivers and attendants at the local level and nationwide. It also calls public attention to how school bus play a vital role in providing educational access for some 25 million students across the U.S. as well as environmental benefits from reducing the number of passenger vehicles needed on the road during the morning and afternoon school commute times.
