StarTrans Recalls Multi-Function School Activity Buses to Address Mirror Warning Label Issue

StarTrans announced it is recalling nearly 450 model-year 2007 through 2011 MFSABs that left the factory without having required decals that warn drivers about proper usage of the cross-view mirrors.

According to the recall notice submitted to NHTSA last month, the label should be affixed to all rear-view mirrors that state the cross-view mirrors should only be used by the driver when the bus is stopped, per FMVSS 111. StarTrans continues that images displayed in the cross-view mirrors “do no accurately show another vehicle’s location” and “improper use of mirrors ray reduce the clear and reasonably unobstructed view to the rear, increasing the risk of a crash.”

StarTrans said it will mail to customers the required decal with detail instructions on where to affix it. The recall was expected to begin this month. Owners may also call StarTrans at (877) 258-1391.
