STN Media Retains Roseann Schwaderer as Chair of TSD Conference

Roseann Schwaderer, owner of the Edupro Group, agreed to terms with STN Media Group to continue serving as the chair of upcoming Transporting Students with Disabilities & Preschoolers National Conference, which she founded 22 years ago.

STN Media, the parent company of School Transportation News magazine, acquired the TSD Conference from Schwaderer in March of 2012. This year’s conference, held in March in Frisco, Texas, was the first produced by STN Media while retaining Schwaderer as chair and organizer. She will continue to work with School Transportation News Editor-in-Chief Ryan Gray, the TSD Tenured Faculty and Board of Advisors on curriculum development.

“Our challenge every year is to offer a ‘best ever’ conference program for the special needs transportation community,” said Schwaderer. “I’m enthusiastic about being part of the team STN is pulling together to achieve that goal in 2014.”

Next year’s conference will be held from Feb. 28 to March 5 in Nashville, Tenn.

At the National Association for Pupil Transportation annual conference in Kansas City in 2006, Schwaderer received the Sure-Lok Special Needs Transportation Award for her dedication in advocating disability transportation and informing the industry on related issues. The National School Transportation Association recognized her in 1998 for her “service and dedication to the school transportation industry” and for her “commitment and leadership with the Transporting Students with Disabilities Conference.”

Schwaderer started up the TSD Conference in 1991 and the Special Needs Team Safety Roadeo seven years later.
