Safe Fleet, parent company of video surveillance equipment provider Seon, announced today that Tom Gill will be Seon’s new president, effective Dec. 31.
Gill, the current chief operating officer, will replace current president and co-founder Terry Akiyama, who is retiring but will continue in a new role as company chairman.
“We thank Terry for his leadership over the past fifteen years,” said John R. Knox, president and CEO of Safe Fleet. “His entrepreneurship and relationship building skills were instrumental in growing Seon from a small start-up to company to the global leader in mobile surveillance for buses.”
Gill joined Seon as chief operating officer in 2009. Prior to this, he worked for Silent Witness as chief operating officer and chief financial officer before Honeywell acquired the company in 2003.
“Tom’s unique combination of financial know-how, operational leadership and strategic thinking makes him the ideal candidate to lead Seon in its continued growth trajectory,” said Akiyama.
“I look forward to working with him to transition responsibilities, as well as partner and customer relationships, over the coming months,” he added.
Safe Fleet acquired Seon in September.
