Wis. Clean Diesel Grant Program Accepting Applications

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources announced last week that it is now accepting applications for its Clean Diesel Grant Program.

The program, funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency through the Diesel Emissions Reductions Act, is offering a total of $445,000 in grants to replace older school buses from both public and private school bus fleets throughout the the state.

Eligible buses are those regularly used to transport students, powered by diesel fuel, have an engine model year 1994-2006 and be in operational condition.

Application packets must be postmarked on or before Aug. 12 in order to be considered. Applicants will be notified on the status of their application approximately 60 days after the deadline.
