Zonar Systems Names New Vice Presidents

Zonar, a leading provider of fleet management technology, is pleased to announce the promotions of Fred Fakkema to vice president of compliance and Tony Bezilla to vice president of product management. These promotions are reflective of the company’s rapid growth and anticipation of future expansion, said Zonar.

With over 25 years of transportation compliance experience, Fakkema will lead the compliance division to ensure Zonar’s solutions meet the ever-changing regulatory requirements in the marketplace, the company said in a statement. He will also facilitate relations with the enforcement community and act as a liaison to governmental entities for Zonar.

Fakkema joined Zonar in 2010 after a 25-year career with the Washington State Patrol (WSP). He commanded the WSP Academy, Government and Relations Division and the Commercial Vehicle Division. He is the past president for the Washington Chapter, FBI National Academy Associates. Fakkema earned his master’s degree in public pdministration from the University of Washington.

As the vice president of product management, Tony Bezilla will lead Zonar’s innovation and product development efforts to continually meet the needs of customers today and tomorrow. He is responsible for Zonar’s product enhancements, new product development and defining Zonar’s product strategy to ensure the best possible user experience and customer value.

Bezilla has a 20-year career in information technology with a background in a spectrum of industries ranging from higher education to transportation and technology services. Prior to joining Zonar, Bezilla served as the vice president of global IT felivery for school bus contractor FirstGroup North America. Bezilla received bachelor’s degrees in the fields of computer science and telecommunications from the University of Maryland.
