FOX45 News reported that the autopsy report on the driver of the school bus killed in last week’s crash in Baltimore has been sent to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
Details of the report were not disclosed by federal investigators. NTSB investigators said they are still reviewing surveillance footage from the neighborhood, looking at video footage taken from the MTA bus and analyzing maintenance and inspection records from all the vehicles involved.
The attorney for A.A. Affordable transportation, George Bogris, told FOX45 News that Glen Chappell had his last physical exam sometime around June 20.
Questions have been raised around Chappell, and if he received the required physical needed to be certified by law for a commercial driver’s license. Maryland Motor Vehicle records indicate that they never received any updated medical documents from Chappell. Monday afternoon, MVA Spokesman Chuck Brown released this statement regarding the license monitoring system:
“This system is not designed to replace the legal and moral obligation of the employer and employee to ensure a driver’s medical certificate is up to date. This system is designed to be one tool to assist employers monitor an employees’ driving record.”
