Eyewitness News 11 reported that a North Carolina woman is facing charges after a kindergartner had to be placed in police custody when no one showed up at a bus stop to meet the young boy.

Police arrested 29-year-old Sarai Flores-Lechuga at her home after a Wake County school bus driver said no one was at the bus stop to meet her son when he was on his way home from Durant Road Elementary School.

She was later charged with misdemeanor child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of juvenile.
