Ohio Man Shoots Student’s Parents at School Bus Stop

A 59-year-old man shot his two neighbors, killing one and wounding the other, as the couple waited with their second-grade child for the school bus in suburban Toledo, Ohio.

The News-Herald reports that the alleged gunman, Jimmie Pemberton, proceeded to burn down the home of Susan Buchholz and Daniel Bennett before shooting himself. He died about 12 hours later.

Pemberton was reportedly angry about an ongoing dispute with the couple.

Buchholz later died at a local hospital while Bennett’s condition has not been released. The couple have three other children, two in middle school and one at home, who were not injured.

Police said the school bus operated for Springfield Local Schools pulled up shortly after the shooting, and students saw Buchholz lying on the ground and the house ablaze.
