Police Searching for Suspect in Attack, Assault of School Bus Driver

10 TV reported that Columbus Police in Ohio are searching for a man believed to have attacked and sexually assaulted a Hilliard school bus driver early Friday morning.

According to police, the suspect sneaked onto the bus overnight and waited for the victim.

As the driver began her route, she heard a noise on the bus and pulled over to the side of the road. Police said that the suspect then attacked the woman with a knife and sexually assaulted her. The victim did suffer injuries from the knife, but they weren’t considered to be life-threatening.

The only description of the suspect was a man wearing dark clothing. His face was also painted, making it difficult for the victim to determine his ethnicity.

In a letter to the Hilliard families, the superintendent emphasized Hilliard City Schools safety changes that will begin immediately: Hilliard City Schools was not in session today.

Both bus compounds will have additional security personnel onsite before, during and after any trips. Along with security being on hand to require appropriate identification to enter the specific bus areas.
