PSBA & Keystone Unveil New Safety Grant For School Bus Contractors

Harrisburg, Pa. — The Pennsylvania School Bus Association (PSBA) and Keystone Insurers Group (Keystone) have joined together to offer $30,000 in annual grant opportunities for association members.

The announcement of this new program was made during PSBA’s Annual Convention in State College. Grant awards provide funds for member school bus contractors to improve safety of fleet operations or the services provided to employees or students. The grant serves to enhance both public relations and raise awareness to the safety conscience reputation of the industry as well as members.

Grant applications will be available on July 1, 2017, with the first set of grants being awarded at the 2018 PSBA Annual Convention and Trade Show in Seven Springs on June 24-26. Grant recipients will then be asked to report out on their grant initiatives at the following year’s convention.

“We believe this program will generate great ideas which will ultimately benefit our industry and especially the precious cargo who ride our buses,” said David Schrantz, chair of the PSBA Safety Education Committee.

PSBA President, Fred Bennett noted, “The PSBA and Keystone are two organizations working towards one goal of increasing safety for the children of the commonwealth. This grant helps facilitate PSBA members to achieve that goal.”

“Keystone believes in the mission of every school transportation member of PSBA, which is to safely deliver and protect our children,” said Brian Brusoski, Keystone’s senior vice president of property and casualty. “The grant awards help illustrate our commitment to safety and the continued improvement of the PSBA members.”

About Keystone

Keystone started in 1983 when four independent insurance agencies teamed up to pool their experience and expertise. Determined and scrappy in the face of a difficult market, this small group believed that agencies could be stronger and more successful if they linked arms—a passion and spirit that continues. Growing to almost 300 independent agency partners in 11 states, Keystone provides its agents with a community of like-minded agencies, industry expertise and access to specialized products for their clients. Keystone is ranked number two on Insurance Journal’s 2016 list of Top 20 Privately-Held Property/Casualty Agency Partnerships. www.keystoneinsgrp.com
