ONTARIO, Canada- We are extremely pleased to announce that Switzer-CARTY Transportation has acquired County Bus Service located in Foxboro, Ontario. The closing date of the acquisition is April 2, 2024.
County Bus Service, owned and operated by Shelby and Robert MacPherson, transports students for Tri-Board Student Transportation Services, servicing: Hastings & Prince Edward District School Board, Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board and Limestone District School Board.
County Bus Service has a longstanding tradition of providing safe and reliable transportation to the local community dating back over fifty (50) years. In 1992, Robert and Shelby MacPherson became co-owners of County Bus Service, partnering alongside Shelby’s brother and sister-in-law as they purchased the company from Shelby’s parents. In 1998, Shelby and Robert became sole owners of County Bus Service and proceeded to purchase three companies over the years: Loyalist Bus Lines, Tucker Bus Lines and Hanthorn Motors Limited.
We are delighted that Shelby will remain with the company and continue working with the Switzer-CARTY team. We would also like to congratulate and extend our best wishes to Robert, who has chosen to retire after beginning his career over thirty-eight (38) years ago as a school bus driver while a student attending Loyalist College.
