Former President Returns to Lead Ohio School Bus Association

Ohio’s professional school bus membership organization announced earlier this month that Mike Miller of Sycamore Community Schools in Cincinnati would return as president, a position he previously held in 2009 and 2010.

mike miller oaptThe Ohio Association for Pupil Transportation website states that Miller will be formerly installed in office on July 21. The transportation director’s current term runs through July 2018.

“It is a great honor to serve the pupil transportation professionals in Ohio in this capacity,” Miller said in a statement

In addition to serving as president of OAPT twice, and as an immediate past-president, Miller has served as the association’s director-at-large and vice president. OAPT added that while Miller was in these roles, he planned and executed several in-service opportunities for pupil transportation professionals throughout the state. He has also planned and executed the organization’s annual conference and trade show.

Miller is entering his 27th year in public education and third as transportation director at Sycamore. He has previously served as a classroom teacher, building administrator and district administrator at Batavia, Clinton-Massie and Goshen Schools. Miller worked for school bus contractor Petermann LTD for nearly 11 years as transportation director for West Clermont and Lakota before being promoted to area operations manager. He has also served as a pupil transportation consultant for the Ohio School Boards Association.
