A SUV collided with a Tampa-area school bus as it picked up children, injuring a 9-year-old Florida girl, who was airlifted to the hospital, reported News Channel 8.
Investigators looking into the incident say that the driver of the 2007 KIA SUV was weaving in and out of traffic. Witnesses claimed the vehicle switched lanes to avoid a stopped vehicle, not realizing until it was too late that the new lane was inhabited by the school bus loading young students.
The driver lost control of the SUV, which traveled onto a grass shoulder and hit the 9-year-old girl, who was treated for minor injuries.
