The executive director of the Pupil Transportation Safety Institute in Syracuse, New York, returns to the TSD Conference this year to provide training and professional development to conference attendees.
A member of the TSD National Board of Advisors, Furneaux is renowned throughout the industry for the certification programs she has developed and led, as well as for the vital research she provides.
She’ll share her wealth of knowledge with conference attendees on “Dispatch as Keystone of Special Needs Transportation” on Saturday, March 18. She will discuss the training of bus dispatchers, including effective time management and emergency response.
The next day, Furneax will discuss preparing for evacuations in a session titled “Evacuation Planning.”
On Monday, March 20, Furneaux will co-present Busting Myths Surrounding Transportation of Students with Special Needs with Sue Shutrump, which will explore myths and misconceptions about the safe transportation of students with special needs.
