ALC Schools Sets Milestone with 1.75 Million Student Passenger Trips

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. — ALC Schools announced today that the alternative student transportation company passed a major milestone by completing more than 1.75 million student passenger trips and 17 million safe miles driven in 2019.

The Southern California-based transportation provider provides state- and district-compliant student transportation as a supplement to school districts’ busing systems.

By using smaller passenger vehicles to transport the districts’ most vulnerable students, including special needs, foster and hard-to-serve trips, ALC completes approximately 11,000 trips per day. The company credits ALC employees, service providers and drivers nationwide for their dedication to safety and consistency that focuses on each student’s unique needs.

“From our routing and optimization team, to field operations, compliance and live dispatch, we never lose sight of our commitment to meeting the needs of that one student,” said Gregg Prettyman, chief operating officer at ALC Schools.

ALC’s transportation model ensures students have the same driver every day, providing them with the consistency they need. By leveraging proprietary routing software, ALC delivers safety, consistency and cost-savings to school districts.

The company also marked the one-year anniversary of its ALC Schools dispatch and operations center in Raleigh, N.C. By working in tandem with its dispatch and operations center in St. George, Utah, the Raleigh operations center provides comprehensive, nationwide “dawn-to-dusk” dispatch coverage for ALC’s district customers.
