CDTi Expands DuraFit Product Line With DuraFit(TM) DOC

OXNARD, Calif., Oct. 27, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Clean Diesel Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:CDTI) (“CDTi” or “the Company”), a leader in advanced emission control technology, introduced the DuraFit(TM) Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) for the heavy duty aftermarket. Leveraging CDTi’s synergized-platinum group metal (SPGM(TM)) technology, this original equipment manufacturer (OEM) quality DOC transforms exhaust stream pollutants into less harmful compounds, enhances Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) performance and reduces the need for costly platinum group metals (PGMs). First sales of DuraFit DOCs are expected by the end of 2015.

“We believe DuraFit DOCs, the latest commercialization of our advanced materials technology, deliver substantial value to customers across a range of automotive markets,” stated Eric Bippus, CDTi’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “With our DuraFit DPFs and DOCs, CDTi becomes the leading provider of cost-effective replacement products for the large and fast-growing medium and heavy diesel aftermarket. We believe the total market for DPF and DOC replacements approaches $450 million, which represents a significant opportunity for CDTi. Now fleets and regional and national distributors can take advantage of our complete solutions.”

Jay Miller, President of DieselUSA Group, Inc., a CDTi master distributor, stated: “We welcome CDTi’s OEM-quality DOC solution backed by their DuraFit two-year, unlimited mileage warranty. Now we can offer our fleet and owner-operator customers the improved lifetime value provided by a DuraFit DOC, which cuts exhaust pollution and reduces PGM costs.”

Diesel Oxidation Catalyst, or DOC, is a device that utilizes complex chemical processes to transform hazardous pollutants from diesel engines, turning them into less harmful exhaust, similar to an automobile’s catalytic converter. DOCs are normally honeycombs coated with an active catalyst formulation, engineered in combination with a DPF, to dramatically reduce particulate matter (PM) by 90% along with reducing other dangerous gaseous emissions by 50% to 70%.
