IC Bus joins the expanding gasoline market for conventional school buses with the unveiling of its new CE Series this week at the Oklahoma Association for Pupil Transportation conference.
It’s the industry’s first public look at the Navistar company’s gasoline-powered school bus with a 8.8L V8 engine from Power Solutions International and commercial grade transmission.
IC Bus said it is designed as a more affordable option for school districts to purchase and maintain. The CE Series is manufactured in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
“We know our customers want a choice in powertrain options and our new gasoline-powered bus will be just another example of how IC Bus is responding to market demand,” commented Trish Reed, vice president and GM of IC Bus.
IC Bus added that the gasoline-powered CE Series will be displayed at various industry trade shows for the rest of the year, including the STN EXPO next month in Reno, Nevada.
