Gentlemen’s Club to Open Near School Bus Stop

Parents in Von Ormy, Texas are outraged at the fact that a gentlemen’s club will be opening just feet from a school bus stop serving students from Southwest ISD, reported News 4 San Antonio.

“My kids come and play here, the neighborhood kids play right next door,” said parent Rosalinda Salazar. “Who’s to say what they’re going to find on the ground, or what’s going to be going on in the parking lot.”

However, the city’s mayor said that the city ordinance only spells out that such clubs be at least 300 feet from churches and daycare centers. Since the club meets these guidelines and obtained all necessary permits, the mayor said she has to “abide by it.”

The school district reportedly asked the director of transportation to explore the possibility of an alternate pick up and drop off location.
