Update: Truck Slams Into Bus Stop, 6 Kids Injured

The Seattle Times reported that six children were injured, two seriously, after a pickup truck smashed into a school bus stop in Washington state. 

The middle school boys were waiting at a school bus stop when a man in a pickup truck apparently lost control of his vehicle, reportedly because of a medical emergency. The truck struck a mailbox before crashing into the students.

Police said the plan to arrest 19-year-old driver for suspicion of vehicular assault after he is released from the hospital. Authorities discovered that he was driving with a suspended license and had a history of seizures.

Two children were critically injured in the crash and driven to a local hospital, along with another child who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck’s driver struck a tree after hitting the boys and was found unconscious at the wheel with his foot still on the gas. Bystanders reportedly rushed to the scene and discovered the man unconscious and slumped over the wheel. He later came to.
