In July the U.S. Senate confirmed Obama appointee Anthony Foxx as the new secretary of the Department of Transportation. The former mayor of Charlotte, N.C., replaced Ray LaHood. Foxx met with American School Bus Council members during a visit of Tucson Unified School District in September with Education Secretary Arne Duncan.
