Grote Industries Introduces New Surface-Mount Bracket For LED WhiteLight Interior Dome Lamps

MADISON, Ind. – Grote Industries, a world leader in high-performance LED lighting technology for the transportation industry, recently announced the release of a new Surface-Mount Bracket with an on-off switch for their familiar LED WhiteLight Interior Dome Lamps. The new bracket is specifically designed to provide flexibility and convenience to emergency and military vehicle operators.

Grote manufactures several LED WhiteLight Interior Dome Lamps, in white, red/white and blue/white configurations. The lamps provide bright LED illumination for more than 50,000 hours of operation and have a low surface temperature, which is critical when working in small, enclosed spaces.

The new Surface-Mount Bracket, which can be engineered into new vehicles or easily retrofitted into existing vehicles, has a switch that enables the operator to turn the lamp on and off directly at the source of the light, instead of from the dashboard or other remote locations. Lamp-based on-off command is particularly helpful in emergency situations when enhanced lamp control is critical.

“Grote has eliminated the hassles of cutting holes into interior infrastructure, fishing wires, and other steps that often go along with installing traditional interior dome lamps,” said Mike Grote, business development manager, forward and interior lighting for Grote Industries. “This new bracket will give vehicle operators the reliability of Grote LED interior lamps, with the convenience of a direct on-off switch.”

The interior dome lamps have long been used in military applications and are battle-hardened and extremely sturdy. These lamps offer dual operating modes: standard WhiteLight illumination mode, and tactical or blackout mode, which uses a combination of red/white or blue/white color to allow soldiers to see, while avoiding detection.

“The same color combinations and dual control are also ideal for the emergency response market because the standard WhiteLight provides exceptionally bright, low-heat illumination when needed, and both red and blue lights preserve night vision and eliminate glare,” added Grote. “This is another example of Grote Industries being in tune with our customers and designing a product with the right light to address their unique needs.”
