IC Bus to Enter Motorcoach Market

SAN DIEGO — IC Bus will use its school buses manufacturing experience to produce motorocoaches in 2010, the company announced at the American Public Transportation EXPO on Monday.

John McKinney, vice president and general manager of IC Bus, called the move “the next logical step” for how parent company Navistar could leverage design elements across its business as he unveiled the IC Bus Concept Coach.

“For schools that operate school buses as well as contract motorcoach buses, they will be able to rely on IC Bus to meet their evolving bus needs,” David Hillman, company director of marketing, added.

Like its forthcoming school bus model, the new motorocoach models will use the MaxxForce engines that will comply with 2010 emissions regulations without the need to add urea, the company said.
