AURORA, Ontario – Landmark Student Transportation announced today that Greg Walter has joined the company as vice president of business development. He will be responsible for expanding Landmark’s operations into key U.S. markets.
Walter has more than 27 years experience in the student transportation industry. Most recently he was Director, Business Development for Durham School Services, a position he held for seven years.
“We’re looking forward to working with Greg,” said John Turney, vice president of Landmark. “Greg has a proven track record of building successful partnerships with school districts.”
In explaining his decision to join Landmark, Walter said that he was impressed with the company’s focus on being responsive to customer needs, as well as their philosophy of engaging employees in better serving school districts.
“I like Landmark’s approach of providing customers with big company experience while still maintaining small town, local relationships,” said Walter, “I’m excited about the opportunity to help school districts with solutions that are tailored to their unique needs.”
Greg Walter began his career in 1984 with Ryder Student Transportation in New Jersey, progressing to the position of vice president for the mid-Atlantic region. When Ryder was acquired by First Student, he assumed the role of senior vice president. He later joined Durham School Services as director of business development. While at Durham, Walter helped expand their business into Rhode Island, New Jersey, South Carolina, Florida, Arkansas, Louisiana and Tennessee, adding 4,000 buses to their fleet.
