HUDSON, Ohio — School Bus Safety Company, Inc. (SBSC), North America’s premier school bus safety and training company, is supporting the National Association of Pupil’s Transportation (NAPT) ‘#StopOnRed’ initiative during National School Bus Safety Week, October 16-20. NAPT’s annual public education program spreads safety awareness and knowledge of best practices throughout the school transportation industry.
“Safety is everyone’s responsibility,” stated Jeff Cassell, president of SBSC, “and that is why NAPT’s 2017 School Bus Safety Week campaign #StopOnRed is so important. To support this important issue, SBSC created five 30 second Public Service Announcements to educate the public in stopping on red. These are available at no charge and can be requested, viewed or downloaded www.schoolbussafetyco.com. Use these to support the stop on red initiative.”
In an effort to spread the safety-first message and provide easy-to-implement tips, SBSC delivered over 300 free safety posters to school district officials and school bus contractors over a three-week period. PDF versions of the poster are still available upon request.
SBSC has a longstanding reputation as the leader in school bus driver safety and training programs, and through its library of DVDs and new online Learning Management System, the company has well over 100 courses available, from its nationally recognized Safety Leadership Program to CDL preparation and Behind the Wheel training, Bullying Prevention, Student Management, and many more.
“In my years partnering with thousands of school districts and many school transportation providers, it has been rewarding to see them make the most out of our safety and training content,” added Cassell. “Our suite of services that we rolled out last spring has really been well-received, too, and has helped enhance the safety practices within many districts and contractors. School board members and other officials who implemented our new services over the summer have peace of mind knowing the proper training procedures have been followed as well as reviewing and documenting the training processes. These school boards are confident now knowing that they are compliant. As I regularly say, safety is about eliminating or reducing risk and that is what we help school districts and contractors do.”
