Thermo King Launches V-520 System for Small Trucks

MINNEAPOLIS – Thermo King is pleased to introduce the V-520 vehicle-powered temperature control system for small trucks. The V-520 is available now for ordering through Thermo King dealers across North America.

The V-520 features the new Direct Smart Reefer (DSR) controller, the latest in microprocessor control for direct-drive systems. Features of the DSR controller include:

  • Continuous monitoring of the load
  • Automatic startup
  • Three standard hour meters
  • Easy-to-understand alarm codes for quick diagnostics and reduced costs
  • Maintenance reminders
  • Upgradeable software
  • Battery protection feature
  • Clutch delay timer
  • New voltage options (24V and 12V)

Other features of the V-520 include SmartPower TM electric standby to save fuel and cut emissions, superior capacity and airflow, and outstanding pull-down capability. There are six models in the V-520 line for customers to choose from, depending on their business need, including SPECTRUM TM multi-temperature units as well as a full range of optional features and equipment.

“The V-520 builds on the strong Thermo King vehicle-powered refrigeration tradition and adds needed features for today’s demanding applications,” says Scott Bates, truck product manager for Thermo King. “The V-520 is suitable for box sizes from 10 to 18 feet and is exempt from the CARB TRU regulation.”
