America’s Best School Bus Tech, Inspector Repeat in North Carolina

Alan Fidler of Tippecanoe School Corporation in Indianapolis repeated as America’s Best School Bus Technician and Jack Defibaugh of Greenbrier County Schools in West Virginia did the same in the inspector category during the skills and training competition held last week at the Cummins, Inc. engine plant in Rocky Mount, N.C.

Finishing in second place in the technician category was Steve Addision of Coweta County (Ga.) Schools followed by John Maxwell of Dallas Center-Grimes Community School District located outside of Des Moines, Iowa. Danny Reed of Beaufort County (N.C.) Schools finished second in the inspector division, and Shane Cochran of Jefferson County (Ala.) Schools finished in third place.

America’s Best is presented by NAPT and is sponsored by ASE, Delco Remy, Hydrotex, Thomas Built Buses, Voith and Zonar Systems. The first technician and inspector skills and training competition were held in 2004 at the IC Bus plant in Tulsa, Okla.
