Blue Bird Corporation is once again providing technical training at this summer’s STN EXPO in Reno, Nevada, to support its new powertrain and braking system offerings, the company announced.
The sessions begin July 25 and run through July 27. Participants also gain entry into the STN EXPO Trade Show on July 26. The two-and-a-haf day training seminar is led by expert technical trainers from Blue Bird, as well as subject matter experts from ROUSH CleanTech, Bendix and Eaton.
“I’m ecstatic, along with my supplier partners ROUSH CleanTech, Bendix and Eaton, for the opportunity to increase technician’s knowledge and repair skills on these exciting new product innovations,” said Bill Landreth, Blue Bird’s vice president of parts and service. “Blue Bird has always taken the lead in ensuring all technicians who work on our vehicles have the confidence, knowledge and skills to correct the problem the first time, regardless if they work for a dealership, school district or contractor.”
Blue Bird said that the $250 registration fee covers the cost of the student’s service manuals, a continental breakfast each morning and lunch on the first day, in addition to the training sessions and admission to the STN EXPO Tradeshow and STN EXPO Extravaganza social at the Grand Sierra Resort. The class for the day ends at noon so that all students can attend the STN EXPO Tradeshow.
The final day of training will feature Bendix representatives covering basic operation, maintenance and troubleshooting for the supplier’s Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS), Automatic Traction Control (ATC), Electronic Stability Control (ESP) and Bendix’s ABS Troubleshooting software (ACOM). Eaton will provide an overview of its Procision Transmission, which includes key component identification, lubrication and troubleshooting procedures, diagnostic tools and a demonstration of Service Ranger.
