A “pre-application workshop” is being held Tuesday morning to share information on the $78.7 million in grant funding from the California Energy Commission to replace the state’s oldest and most polluting school buses.
The June 12 event is being held at 10 a.m. local time at the California Energy Commission’s Art Rosenfeld Hearing Room at 1516 9th St. in Sacramento. The deadline to submit applications to fund projects under GFO-17-607 is Sept. 20 at 5 p.m.
In addition, the California Energy Commission’s Alternative & Renewable Fuel & Vehicle Technology Program (ARFVTP) announced it has up to $13 million in grant funds that are available for electric vehicle infrastructure.
There is also another $2.4 million in grant funds that are available for compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling infrastructure for replacing the school buses.
School districts and county offices of education that apply for a CNG replacement bus via this infrastructure opportunity may also be eligible for up to $500,000 per applicant.
