Huillet Named NASDPTS Director of Administrative Services, McKnight Joins Washington OSPI

Steve Huillet, a past member of the NASDPTS executive board who will retired at the end of the year from the Oregon Department of Education, is embarking on a new challenge within the industry.

Effective Jan. 1, Huillet confirmed that will become the new director of administrative services for NASDPTS, replacing former Idaho state director Rod McKnight. A contract between Huillet and NASDPTS was finalized today.

As reported last week, Huillet’s successor at the Oregon Department of Education has yet to be named, but Huillet said he was hopeful a decision would be made before Christmas.

McKnight, meanwhile, became the Region 1 transportation coordinator for the Washington State Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction on Nov. 15. Allan J. Jones, state director at OSPI, said McKnight is now based in Vancouver, Wash, where he recently relocated with his family. McKnight provides oversight of the state’s third-party driver testing program and manages financial accounts for the state’s bus driver training programs.

“We are delighted to have someone with his broad range of experience to provide service to the districts in that region,” added Jones.
