Last month, NAPT announced it has modified the special needs training program. Starting July 1, applications for the endorsement program would no longer be accepted, and those interested in training can participate in the new program for Certification in Special Needs Transportation.

Those already enrolled in the endorsement program before these changes have the option of continuing the coursework towards the endorsement, with a deadline of 2016. They can also finish this coursework and take an additional three courses to earn the certification.

Courses counting towards the endorsement will be offered at STN’s upcoming TSD Conference in Frisco, Texas.
