School Bus Contractors Meet in San Diego

The National School Transportation Association opened its 2015 Mid-Winter Meeting Monday, marking the beginning of the school bus contractor organization’s second half-century in existence.

NSTA President Tim Flood thanked members for their service to the association and to the industry to start the three-day meeting at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego. Monday’s agenda consisted of the Association and Industry Development meeting, which included sponsor Zonar Systems awarding a $50,000 technology hardware grant to contractor B.R. Williams of Woodstown, New Jersey. Zonar said the capital acquisition grant will outfit school buses with the component hardware parts necessary to procure the benefits of the company’s patented technology systems.

“We are excited to again partner with Zonar on this grant opportunity and are pleased that this opportunity helps one of our member contractors.” said Flood. “This opportunity affords members access to valuable tools to improve operations and keep them at the forefront of the industry’s best practices.”

NSTA’s Mid-Winter Meeting continues Tuesday with updates on MAP-21, DERA, tax reform, entry-level driver training, sleep apnea, minimum insurance levels, and more.
