In acquiring the net assets of routing company U.S Computing Inc., Seon announced it would continue to invest in developing and growing the transportation software company. Officials also said they would be servicing these customers under its own vMax Compass brand name.
The two companies have been partners for the past three years in integrating video surveillance and routing technology for the student transportation industry.
“This acquisition is a natural progression of that partnership and an integral part of our long-term vision to become the leading supplier of safety solutions for fleet vehicles as part of the Safe Fleet family of brands,” said Tom Gill, president of Seon, a global video surveillance company for the bus market.
In a statement, U.S. Computing Inc. owner Neil Sengupta said he is “extremely pleased” with the deal.
“Our existing customers will benefit from Seon’s track record of developing high-quality products and reputation for outstanding customer support,” he added.
Last September, Safe Fleet acquired Seon nearly a year after forming as a result of a merger between the R.O.M. Corporation and Specialty Manufacturing Inc.
