Student Transportation, Inc. honored dozens of employees for their successful efforts in evacuating high school students after a bomb threat was made for Mesa County Valley School District in Colorado.
Upon alert of the potential bomb threat in April, 23 STA drivers responded swiftly while on break from their routes. Mechanics and managers also sprang into action.
Shane Anderson, operations manager of STA in Grand Junction, Colorado, said 31 buses were on site and ready to transport students safety from school. Anderson added that these “unsung heroes” are testament to the hard work and professionalism of school bus drivers nationwide.
STI Chairman and CEO Denis Gallagher and the Mesa County Valley School District 51 community honored the STA Grand Junction team of 36 members. Honorees donned honor lapel pins and received certificates that underscored their heroic acts.
