Transfinder Offers Buyout of Existing School Bus Routing Contracts

Transfinder President and CEO Antonio Civitella said his company will buy out any school district’s contract with a competing routing software provider, to prove Transfinder’s solutions can improve value, safety and ease of use.

Civitella made the announcement Thursday after speaking with a number of school districts that have voiced a desire to ditch their routing software, but feel stuck, due to the investment put into the system. The deal would have Transfinder cover remaining costs of a school district’s current contract.

“That’s how much we believe in our solutions,” Civitella said, adding an invitation to all school districts displeased with their purchases that now is “your time to jump ship and not have the burden of paying for a disappointing software product.”

“We are now removing that barrier for districts across the board,” he added.

According to Transfinder, it tries not to enter long-term contracts unless they are required to by an RFP or requested by a school district to lock in a price. Since 2015, the New York-based company said half of its new clients previously were using another routing product to operate its school buses.

“We have to prove ourselves every year to our clients. We cannot get complacent,” Civitella said.
