Stuff The Bus Provides Supplies To Nebraska Flood Victims

The Lincoln Super Saver and Russ’ Market in Nebraska raised over $40,000 for the Nebraska Flood Relief in a recent promotion that was conducted at 10 locations, reported JournalStar.com

The stores also donated 12 busloads of supplies, in conjunction with Cornhusker International Trucks. The event was on March 19-22, and Cornhusker International Trucks shipped the products to the Salvation Army to be distributed, noted abc8.com.

In addition to the Stuff The Bus event, participating stores gave customers the opportunity to round-up their purchases to the nearest dollar, giving the proceeds to the Nebraska flood relief. The round-up was March 19-April 7.

According to NPR, the flood that swept through Nebraska the week of March 21 caused over $1 billion in damage. At least three people were killed in Nebraska and Iowa. More than 2,000 homes and 340 businesses were reportedly damaged or destroyed by the flood.
