Blue Bird Propane School Bus Certified as Ultra-Low NOx

The U.S. EPA and California Air Resources Board recently signed off on the Blue Bird Vision Propane school bus that is powered by a ROUSH CleanTech propane autogas fuel injection system and Ford 6.8L engine. They emit only 0.02 grams per brake horsepower hour, the lowest levels of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) that are available from any Class 4 through 7 propane vehicle.

Under Grant Funding Opportunity GFO-17-607 (School Bus Replacement for California School Districts and County Offices of Education), California school districts can apply for a share of $94.1 million in funding to purchase new electric or CNG school buses, as well as charging and fueling infrastructure.
