The kickoff for the 2019 STN EXPO in Reno, Nevada is rapidly approaching. STN EXPO attendees here last year helped us celebrate 25 years of content, community and commerce. This year has been another hallmark for the STN Family.
Thank you for returning to help us start the next quarter-century of education and networking, for the betterment of student transportation.
We’ve constructed another industry-leading event that should inspire you to change your thinking, and to spur you into action for the benefit of 26 million children who ride the yellow bus each school day. Engage with our expert speakers, your peers and representatives from over 100 exhibitors this week, to move toward enhanced safety and efficiency in our changing regulatory and technology landscape.
Disruption can be a good thing, as our opening keynote speaker, Jim Harris, will confirm, because it presents an opportunity to leave complacency behind. But we must consciously and conscientiously choose to think and act differently. If we don’t, we may figuratively and literally miss the bus.
There is undoubtedly a sense of urgency to this mission. It’s no secret that veteran industry leaders are retiring at an increasingly faster rate. In fact, 10,000 Baby Boomers across the U.S. are now reaching retirement age each day.
If you are one of these retirement-eligible employees, how will you use the STN EXPO experience to challenge your staff to be ready to carry forward without you? If you are an up-and-comer, how will you draw on the STN EXPO to help you assume a greater leadership role?
Hop on board this week as we tackle this challenge and others, like the new entry-level driver training regulations, how to create safer bus stops, driver and technician shortages, security challenges for bus drivers and more. Then, join us at the exciting trade show to extend the conversation with bus manufacturers, suppliers and technology providers.
Please find me or any EXPO staff member if you have any questions.
Here’s to another stimulating week!
